Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools, workplaces, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.
This year we celebrated together on Friday 16 October and it was great to see pink throughout campus!
Some of the standout events were:
The Student Care team all wore pink, letting students know they were willing to stand-up to bullying.
Academic Services held a morning tea and had made sure everyone wore pink! The Academic Quality team also raised funds for resources to go into the 2021 rainbow packs for new students.
UCSA held their annual Coffee Party event at Haere-Roa which this year incorporated a special stall to recognise Pink Shirt Day. To match the colour of the day, pink buns were also given out. It was an all-round successful event where it was great to spark conversations about such an important topic!
CAPE held a morning tea for Pink Shirt Day. Both staff and students enjoyed getting together and sharing pink lamingtons.
AVCMPE held a rainbow student afternoon tea attracted around 50 students and 20 staff everyone enjoyed vegan cupcakes and some awesome company.
Thank you to all the other teams that took part and have not been mentioned here. You wonderful support of this awesome day is greatly appreciated.
