10 years after the February 22nd Earthquake, the Student Volunteer Army (SVA) is heading back to Red Zone for The 5th Annual Big Give!
For the first SVA event back in 2021, everyone is invited to a day out on Saturday 13 March (rescheduled from Saturday 7 March), restoring the community areas affected by the earthquakes around the Avon River.
For an idea of what you’ll be getting up to, here are some of the projects planned for the day:
- Weeding, mulching and planting in the RICHMOND COMMUNITY GARDENS
- Restoring around the AVON RIVER with GREENING THE REDZONE
- Filling planter boxes and mulching with EAST X EAST
As a celebration of the morning’s hard work, a BBQ lunch will hosted in the Richmond Community Gardens with a side of live music (brought to you by the one and only Tunesoc). Transport to and from the event is included so all you need to do is show up at Haere Roa at 8.30am with some covered shoes, a water bottle and a whole lot of enthusiasm!
