International experience doesn’t stop with the closure of the borders! UC Global Exchange partner Stockholm University, Department of Law (SULaw) is offering virtual exchange courses to law students this mid-year break.
These exchanges allow you to study online and connect with students from around the world during the New Zealand winter. Just like a normal exchange programme, you pay only UC tuition fees and the credits you gain from the partner university are recognised by the UC School of Law.

Virtual Exchange | Stockholm University, Department of Law – SULaw Summer Programme 2021
When: Students can choose to attend courses from Session 1 or 2 as below. Due to time differences, you are recommended to select courses offered in the morning only (Stockholm time).
Note: you will not be able to take courses in Session 3: 26 July – 6 August.
- Session 1: 28 June – 9 July 2021
- Session 2: 12 July – 23 July 2021 (overlapping the first week of UC’s Semester 2)
Courses: The programme is taught in English and is based on synchronous learning which requires mandatory active participation in all courses. All courses are undergraduate courses offered at basic and advanced levels.
You will choose two courses from Session 1 and/or Session 2 and need to make sure that you have a feasible class schedule. Class recordings are usually not available. Details about the courses, assessments, etc. are available on the SULaw Summer website, please also see the tentative class schedule on the Global Exchange website. (the class schedule will be finalised closer to the start of the course) Availability of places in courses is limited and therefore, entry to specific courses is not guaranteed.
- You need to have passed all your core LAWS200 level courses and have achieved a B average or above across all your LLB courses at UC.
- Stockholm offers courses at different levels – basic and advanced level, but to enrol in either, students are expected to have passed at least 240 UC points in Law.
UC credit: You will receive 15 points of LAWS at 300 level for successfully passing two of the appropriate SULaw Summer courses as stated in the table below. See the table for details on any UC course restrictions (if applicable).
Fees: Standard UC tuition fee for a 15 point Law course
