The UCSA: What’s on offer at your Students’ Association?

With Semester One in full swing, we hope you’re settling into campus life! If you’re new around here, allow us to introduce ourselves: we’re the University of Canterbury Students’ Association (or The UCSA) and we’re here to help you get the most out of your time at uni!

Led by a governance team of elected student reps, the UCSA is independent from the University, and we run a heap of student-focused support services, fun events, and even some great bars and cafes.

We’d definitely encourage you to explore our services – a few of them are highlighted below, but do check out our website for the full picture.  You can also stay connected with us through social media: @theUCSA on Facebook and @ucsa_nz on Instagram.

Missed Clubs Day?

So you missed UCSA’s Clubs Day this O.Week? No problem: you can find all of UC’s 160  student clubs and societies online 24/7.

Head to the Students’ Association website to check them out, learn more about the club experience, and to find events on and off campus!

The next Clubs Day isn’t far away either – it runs during Orientation Week at the start of both the first and second semesters, just keep an eye on the UCSA’s event calendar.

Otto and Oishii: New eateries on campus

Have you tried the new campus eateries Otto and Oishii yet?

Otto is a pizzeria, serving up hot slices and dirty curly fries (pro tip: add an extra flavour hit by tucking into their huge sauce collection).  They’re open Monday to Friday for coffee from 9am, then pizza from 10am till 7pm.

Then there’s Oishii, a contemporary sushi bar full of delicious rice treats. You can stop by Monday to Friday, 10am till 4pm.

You’ll find them both in the Undercroft.
