Sign up for NZ Sign Language course at Dovedale

It’s not too late to sign up for New Zealand Sign Language introductory course, starting 27 August at Dovedale campus.

NZSL tutor Julie Fraser will be taking the introductory sign language course. Past students have commented on how complementary learning sign language is to their education training.

The course covers finger-spelling alphabet and basic phrases, numbers, some university specific vocabulary and basic grammar. No previous NZSL experience is required and the course is open to both students and staff.  Handouts are provided and there is no structured homework though practicing signs between classes is encouraged to enhance your learning.

Classes will be held on Mondays, 1.00pm – 2.00pm on 27 August, 3, 10, 17 and 24 September and cost $60.00. For more information and to sign up email Nicola McDonald on nicola.mcdonald@canterbury.ac.nz
