NEW ASC workshops for term 3 – Enrol now

The Academic Skills Centre is running a wide range of workshops available to all students in Term 3, and since we’re in Level 1, this time they will be on-site and in person!

Call in to our office to collect the Term 3 schedule (Level 3, Puaka-James Hight Library), or visit our website to enrol and take the next step towards improving your writing, your time management, or your English language skills, to name just a few.

We look forward to seeing you. For more information visit www.canterbury.ac.nz/support/asc/services/current/

ASC’s term 2 workshops & seminars are online

The Academic Skills Centre is not only online for appointments—we’re running almost all of our workshops too! These courses are a great way to get good, solid systems in place for essential skills like paraphrasing, grammar, essay writing, avoiding plagiarism, time management and more. They’re also the best way to keep up a regular schedule of improving your written English if it isn’t your first language.

Some workshops will be run as live Zoom classes, while others may be recorded sessions or some combination of both, but all will contain the same useful information as our on-campus workshops.

We know these workshops are useful because students keep telling us. Year after year, student surveys show us that you find them very useful, so if you haven’t attended our workshops before (and even if you have!), come along and get a skills upgrade!

Visit our website to have a look at the full programme for Term 2, and email academicskills@canterbury.ac.nz if you have any queries about a particular course.
