Sustainable Futures – where nature and knowledge collide

Where nature and knowledge collide, University of Canterbury researchers are building Sustainable Futures. Throughout July, we are sharing some of the innovative research University of Canterbury people are creating to grow society’s understanding of the natural world and shape a sustainable future for generations to come.

Check out how Ben and William, founders of KiwiFibre Innovations are turning ti kōuka (cabbage tree) and harakeke (flax) into new natural composite materials. Read the story>

In cultivating a spirit of curiosity, we contribute to the pool of diverse knowledge to pass on to the next generation and inspire and empower future researchers to overcome the challenges of the changing world. Through tiakitanga we will enhance and nurture our resources – He kaitiaki tatou katoa.
