Engineering & Horticulture scholarship – John Templin Trust

Applications are now open for Scholarships from the Templin Scholarship Trust. 

Graduates of the University of Canterbury or Lincoln University are eligible. The number of scholarships awarded annually is unspecified.

The award is tenable for research, higher studies or practical experience in engineering or horticulture at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, or at any other institution in the U.S.A. or Canada approved by the Trustee and Selection Committee.

Tenure is normally for one year but may be extended for a second year. The scholar must return to New Zealand on expiry of the scholarship and engage in engineering or horticulture.

Applications are invited from:

  • University of Canterbury – Engineering Scholarships

            To persons who have graduated at the University of Canterbury with a Degree in Engineering in any one of its branches or who have qualified by examination for the award of such a degree

 

  • Lincoln University –  Horticulture Scholarships

           To persons who have graduated at the Lincoln University with a Degree in:

            Ø    Bachelor of Science, Plant and Horticultural Major

            Ø    Bachelor of Agriculture/Bachelor of Agricultural Science

            Ø    Bachelor of Commerce (Agricultural) in Horticultural Management

            Ø    Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology

            Ø    Diploma in Horticultural Management (Level 6)

 

Scholarships cover tuition costs and reasonable costs of travel, accommodation and related living expenses for the duration of the study period.

Any application must include conditional acceptance from the applicant’s preferred choice of University or Institute together with a full budget in support of the amount applied for.

To qualify applicants must be under the age of thirty (30) years.

Beatrice Tinsley – protected walkway construction this weekend

This weekend (18 – 19 August) construction will start on a protected walkway between the Ernest Rutherford building and Beatrice Tinsley construction site. This is in preparation for construction of the elevated link bridges that will join the two buildings.

Pedestrian access will remain at all times between Ernest Rutherford and the Beatrice Tinsley buildings – please be considerate of others and take care during busy times, as the passage could become congested. Alternatively, walk through the atrium of Ernest Rutherford.

Lost property during exams

Did you leave something behind in an exam room? Examination lost property is collected and taken to the Examination Control Room, Psychology 116 (near Café 101). The Control Room is open from 8.00am – 6.00pm, Monday – Saturday for you to come and collect anything you left behind. On the evening of Saturday 23 June all uncollected property will be taken to the Security Office and it can be collected from there.
