LAST CALL – VOLUNTEER AND BE FEATURED IN THIS YEAR’S O DAY VIDEO

Calling all students looking for their 15 seconds of fame!

Were you made for the camera and spotlight? Do you have an outgoing and vibrant personality?

Every year, UC produces a brief 2 – 3 minute video to be shown at Orientation Day to students new to the University. The video will highlight the resources and services offered to students. Who better to give new students a first look at campus life than our current ones?

You must be available for filming the morning of Friday 25 January. We only have a couple of spots left so don’t wait.

If you’re keen to take part, please email Communications at travis.lawson@canterbury.ac.nz by midday Friday 18 January 2019.

VOLUNTEER AND FEATURE IN THE 2019 O DAY VIDEO

Calling all students looking for their 15 seconds of fame!

Were you made for the camera and spotlight? Do you have an outgoing and vibrant personality?

Every year, UC produces a brief 2–3 minute video to be shown at Orientation Day to students new to UC. The video will highlight the resources and services offered to students. Who better to give new students a first look at campus life than current students?

You must be available for filming in mid/late-January 2019. We only have 10 spots so don’t wait!

If you’re keen to take part, please email travis.lawson@canterbury.ac.nz by Friday 11 January 2019.

**Six lucky students who volunteer to participate before 17 December 2018 will receive a $10 food voucher redeemable at UCSA outlets on campus (the catch is you must spend it by 19 December 2018!).**

Fill your heart with warmth – volunteer at Open Day | Rā Tōmene

Looking for something to do during the mid-year break? Something to make you feel good and like you’re helping others? Well, we’ve got an opportunity for you and it includes free stuff!!

The Events and Partnerships team are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to share their knowledge and experience of UC while having a bit of fun with our future students, families and whānau at Open Day | Rā Tōmene – Thursday 12 July, 9.00am – 5.00pm.

We need you to volunteer in the following roles:

Supplier of smiles – you have a great smile and enjoy making people happy.
We want you along our Open Day trails to warmly welcome our visitors to UC. Hand out tote bags, scan tickets, greet those coming from out of town on the free bus, and wave them goodbye at the end of the day. You take care of those all-important frontline tasks, wearing a big smile on your face.

Foot traffic controller – you’re there to help people find their way.
You love the buzz of people gathering, ready to learn. Every hour a new information session begins and you’ll be at the front of the line, managing the flow of people in and out of lecture theatres and helping people find the right session.

And now for the FREE stuff! For your trouble you get a cool tee shirt to wear (and keep), a drink bottle, UC scarf and all the tea, coffee and hot chocolate you can drink from the volunteer’s kitchen.

Volunteer by filling out the form here>
