We’re excited to announce the University of Canterbury Young New Zealander of the Year Award Te Mātātahi o te Tau, supported by the UC Foundation as part of the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards. This is an awesome opportunity to celebrate a young kiwi, aged 15-30, who is overflowing with potential to produce a bright future for Aotearoa, and has been striving over the last year to improve not only themselves but their whole community.
In these times, it’s essential that we recognise the amazing contributions of young New Zealanders and empower them to help make a difference. A couple of past winners are Student Volunteer Army founder Sam Johnson, and tech entrepreneur Kendall Flutey, CEO and Founder of Banqer – both UC graduates!
This award will be presented as part of the New Zealander of the Year Awards ceremony in 2021. Nominations open on Monday 20 July – keep posted for more details soon!
