New National IT Challenge landed at UC

Opportunity for your students to compete nationwide and win a share of $5,000!

There is a new initiative on campus this year with the inaugural UCE Regional MYOB IT Challenge.

The MYOB IT Challenge is an annual event run by the hugely successful Management Consulting Club at the University of Auckland. This year for the very first time they are opening up the challenge to universities from across the nation which means this is an opportunity for UC students to show the country just how great we are.

This competition is open to all students at any level and from any discipline. This will be of particular interest to students with technical expertise (e.g. from information systems, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science etc) and/or interest in business consulting (e.g. from Commerce). This is a great opportunity for students to add some great skills and experience to their CV, particularly in consulting and problem solving areas.

The IT Challenge is a business case based competition, combining business and technical analysis to find real solutions to business problems throughout New Zealand. Students will work in teams of two to four, for five days to prepare and submit a written proposal and basic prototype. Teams will then pitch to a panel of judges for the chance to compete in the National competition in Auckland.

Please encourage students who might be interested to head along to the information session on the 3 May at 2pm in the UCE Presentation Room, Forestry 125. More event details are available here.

You and your students can find more information on the Challenge and key dates (including application details) on the Challenge page.
