A Welcome Centre will be opening on the ground floor of Matariki building on 10 February as part of UC’s 2017 Orientation activities.
The Centre will be a drop-in point of contact for students and whānau arriving on campus at the start of the 2017 academic year. The Centre will be open from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday from 10-24 February.
A principal intention of the Welcome Centre is to effectively transition students into UC by engaging and building relationships with them. A positive personalised initial experience is the foundation of a life-long association with UC.
Student and staff volunteers will be on hand in the Welcome Centre to provide information and friendly referral to key services such as Enrol-in-Person for international students, and the International Student Hub.
This new initiative falls within Student Services and Communication’s (SSAC) Orientation remit and is overseen by Student Success.
