The Office of the AVC Māori offers the following support, via the Learning and Development Programme, to those seeking to embed the Bicultural Competence and Confidence Graduate Attribute into their curriculum.
Culturally Responsive Pedagogy is a new staff development course which is aimed at assisting academic staff members to embed culturally responsive pedagogy in their teaching. This half-day course, facilitated by Liz Brown – Kaiārahi Matua, enables you to reflect and grown your own bicultural practice. It will also look at the theory behind our current education system in comparison to Māori pedagogy.
See below what a participant from the June workshop thought…
“This was an excellent workshop, with a really good balance of concrete strategies and theoretical ‘big picture’ discussion. Lots of interaction and opportunities to share ideas with colleagues.”
