Planned Power Outage Period – 3 September

As a consequence of commissioning work required on  a single High Voltage switch  within the Ilam Campus network, a 4 hour  power outage is required affecting a small section of the network.

To minimise the user impact, the outage has been scheduled during  a Sunday morning during this mid semester break .

Power  Outage Period –   Sunday 3 September from  7am – 12noon

The buildings affected are:

  • Forestry
  • Forestry workshop
  • Central lecture theatres C1-3
  • Rehua construction site – Hawkins
  • Geography Staff

Staff are advised that for the affected buildings there will be NO ACCESS as the buildings will be cleared and locked down by Security for the period of the outage.

It is recommended that building occupants turn off their computers and area printers last thing before leaving work on the Friday evening  of the outage.

Please forward this advice to any affected staff and student building users as appropriate.

While the timing should mean any impact will be minimal, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Early Childhood Learning Centre Parent Evening

The ECLC is having a Parent Evening on Monday 11 September 2017 from 6pm-7.30pm – it is open to all – not just current families.

Please join the kaiako | teachers at ECLC as we showcase our curriculum by inviting all parents to a hands-on experience of our programme.

This is an opportunity for Parents/Caregivers to see how tamariki learn through a free play environment in the various areas of the centre from the nursery, to toddlers and preschool. It will also give parents a chance to see our curriculum in action.

To get the most out of the evening, please make alternative arrangements for your tamariki.

Light snacks, coffee and tea will be provided.

Please RSVP to the Centre for catering purposes by Wednesday 6 September at earlyyears@canterbury.ac.nz
