As part of Spring into Action September, Student Services Engagement team has arranged wellness talks for staff on each Wednesday in September.

Wednesday 6 September
Wendy Risdon is a nurse and a Master’s student. She has worked at the Uni Health Centre for over 10 years. She has a special interest in helping people thrive and not just survive life day to day. Her nursing practice is truly holistic and she sees patient sfor up to an hour for sessions in Relaxation Therapies, which utilise ‘Healing Touch’, Relaxation Breathing, Massage and Guided Imagery Techniques. Her talk will focus on how our thoughts create our biology.
Wednesday 13 September
Alex Mortlock is a clinical psychologist at the UC Health Centre. The topic of his presentation is ‘Sleep problems and how to fix them’. Alex also works at the Sleep Well Clinic and specialises in empirically-based behavioural interventions for insomnia and other sleep disorders.
Qi Gong – Want to enhance your fitness through low impact exercise that releases tension and stress, cultivates more energy and promotes mental clarity?
Come along to the Undercroft Seminar Room 101 at 12noon each Wednesday and try Qi Gong prior to the wellness talks, which start at 12.15pm – 1pm. There will be a number of other Qi Gong sessions throughout September so check out the Calendar of Events to find a time that suits you.
