Some staff across the University may have experienced emails ‘bouncing-back’ from various accounts, and not getting through to the intended recipient.
It appears several UC accounts have been compromised and have been used to spam other computers around the world (accounts are often compromised as a result of phishing campaigns).
Brand protection and compliance services providers (used to protect email services) have seen this spamming activity being generated from the UC domain name and are now blocking our domain name.
The compromised accounts have now been repaired and restored, however it is likely to take a further 48 hours to cycle off the lists that are currently blocking the UC domain name.
