University of Canterbury Alumni Book Club

We are excited to announce the launch of our UC Alumni Book Club! In this online community, you can interact with UC alumni and staff, enjoy books related to lifelong learning, social issues, literature, psychology, and more. There is no cost to participate – you just need to get a copy of the book to enjoy.

The book club will connect through a private online forum where you can discuss the current book and network with each other. The group will spend two months on each book, so there will be plenty of time to read.

Why join?

– Connect with fellow alumni

– It is all online so you can join from anywhere in the world

– Be a part of a lifelong learning community

– It is free to join, and you decide whether you want to read one, or all five of the books throughout the year

The first book we will be reading is Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein. This #1 New York Times bestseller explores how to be successful in the 21st Century and whether spreading your knowledge across multiple domains is the key to success, rather than deepening knowledge in a single area.

You can sign up, and learn more about the club here. The sign-up window for this reading period will close on Wednesday May 27 2020.
