Log out of your computer this Friday evening (27 April 2018)

Before you head off this weekend, ITS would like to request that staff log out of their computers. A number of computer updates are scheduled for the evening of this Friday 27 April 2018, and by logging out you can help ensure these run smoothly and your computer is ready to go on Monday morning.

UPDATE 15/3/18 – Learn Performance Issues during Start of Semester

This year our online e-learning system (Learn) experienced a substantial increase in usage compared to previous years. Unfortunately it has struggled to keep up with the load, and has continued to experience periods of slow performance and system outages.

ITS continue to monitor Learn closely, and are working with an external support vendor to resolve these Learn performance issues. However this work is still underway and we cannot yet confirm when these issues will be fully resolved.

We apologise for any impact caused by these performance issues.

Learn Performance Issues during Start of Semester

This year our online e-learning system (Learn) experienced a substantial increase in usage compared to previous years. Unfortunately it has struggled to keep up with the load, and has experienced periods of slow performance and system outages. These issues were most noticeable on Mondays and Tuesdays, which corresponded to peak usage.

ITS has been working with an external support vendor to make changes to the Learn system, and performance has been improving and stabilising. There is still some work to be completed however, and ITS will continue to monitor Learn closely – particularly during peak usage periods.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these performance issues.

Provisioning new staff with a telephone Skype for Business account

All new permanent employees will now be automatically provisioned with a Skype for Business account along with a personal DDI telephone number – Managers and Team Leads will no longer need to raise a request for this.

Please note that Persons of Interest and Casual staff who require a telephone number will need an IT account and an email address, and will still require a request be logged via the Self Service Portal in order to provision the new starter with an account.
