IT Recycling Service Hiatus 2018

The IT Recycling Service will again be on hiatus from the start of December 2018 until the beginning of February 2019.

This is in line with resourcing issues for the affected areas of Learning Resources over the Christmas/ New Year period.

IT Recycling requests can still be logged via the Assyst Self Service Portal where they will be held pending resumption of the service.

Please ensure that any items for which a request has been logged are stored in a safe & secure manner until they are able to be processed.

Also note that the limit is 30 IT items per job (i.e. 30 x Desktop PCs or 15 Desktops & 15 Monitors).

UC Apple Wall Plug exchange Closure

The final phase of the UC Apple wall plug exchange has ended, thank you to all Staff Members that exchanged affected wall plug adapters and thank you to the IT Service Desk for assisting with the Ilam Campus exchange. 182 faulty wall plugs were replaced under the exchange.

If you were not aware of this exchange or were not able to replace your wall plug, you can still have it replaced at any Apple Service Agent. Click here for the locations of the Christchurch Agents.

To know if your wall plug adapter is affected, detach it from the adapter and examine it.

An affected wall plug adapter is generally round and has four or five characters or no characters on the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. Redesigned adapters have a three letter regional code in the slot (AUS) and have a oblong shape.

Click here for more information and pictures of the adapters.
