Staff Conduct

Are you familiar with the Staff Code of Conduct? UC has high standards of professional behaviour and integrity expected of all members of our University community. These standards are easy to find; they are set out in Staff Code of Conduct and also the Prevention of Harassment and Bullying Policy and the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy

Every member of University community has responsibility to familiarise themselves with these policies.

The Staff Code of Conduct is being reviewed in the near future to bring it up to date with best practice and UC’s strategy and you will have a chance to contribute to this process during formal consultation, which will be announced in the coming months.

Work is also being done on creating a Staff Student Interactions Policy which will:

    • Clarify expectations for professional behaviour and integrity when interacting with students;
    • Provide students, their families and whanau, the community and the public with trust and confidence in UC; and
    • Provide staff with guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to protect their own professional reputation and that of UC.

Formal consultation on the draft Staff Student Interactions Policy will also be announced soon.

If you see or experience unacceptable behaviour please speak to your Manager, Department Head and/or HR Advisor, or find more information here Raise a Complaint about Another Person.

In the context of the fast-changing nature of our world, especially at the moment, please remember to be kind and considerate of others and address any problems that do arise promptly and constructively.
