Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course
13 Oct – 1 Dec, Tuesdays 6pm-8.30 pm, Psychology Department, University of Canterbury
The Psychology Centre is running another course. Our previous courses have received positive feedback from UC staff and students; supporting them to be able to shift from the automatic pilot of a busy life, to living more fully in the present and reduce their stress.
This eight week course will introduce you to a range of mindfulness practices and has an experiential and educational focus. Cost: $350 (incl. CDs and reading material).

The Disability Resource Service is offering a short course in NZSL, each Thursday of term four, 4-5pm.
Learn the finger-spelling alphabet and basic phrases, some university specific vocabulary and basic grammar.
No previous NZSL experience is required.

The film ‘Tom Who? The Enigma of Tom Kreisler’ looks into the life and art practice of Tom Kreisler (father of Head of Fine Arts Aaron Kreisler) and includes information around his time at Ilam SoFA and years in Christchurch.

The Logie Cup
The curators from the James Logie memorial Collection are offering regular tours of the collection for staff and friends between 1-2pm on the first Wednesday of every month, through until 3 November 2015.
The collection contains around 370 items of classical antiquities from the Greek and Roman world. This will be a rare opportunity for staff and friends to view items without barriers of glass or perspex. More information here.
