Bike Pumps on Campus

UC Sustainability is busy working on different solutions to our current bike pumps on campus, due to constant breakages.  Do you have any ideas or solutions for bike pumps you’ve seen work well elsewhere? We’d love to hear your thoughts, so we can help keep you safe on your bikes this winter! Leave your comments below or send us an email at sustainability@canterbury.ac.nz.

New Print Operation Group

Information Technology Services and Campus Services have formed a group responsible for printing services for the University of Canterbury. The members of the group are Clive Keylard, Shona van Ee, John Todd, Malcolm Smeaton, Simon White and representatives from Ricoh (our preferred printer supplier).

All requests for new, upgrades, moves and removal of printers will be reviewed by this group.

If you have any requests for a change in printing services please use the Self Service portal (click on Log a Request ->  IT Services -> 08 Print & Copy Services -> then select the appropriate form) or call the IT Service Desk for assistance.

2016 Boiler Shut Down

The annual boiler shut down on both the Ilam and Dovedale Campus will occur this year on Friday 18 November (today) and will affect the general heating in nearly all buildings.

This shut down, which will be in place until March 2017, is required to complete annual maintenance work and a compliance survey on both boiler plants.

Kirkwood and Dovedale Villages, Wheki,  John Britten and Biology are not affected by this shutdown and will perform as normal.

Special cleaning services require a BEIMS request

Cleaning services would like to remind departments that a BEIMS remote works request must be lodged for any special cleaning services, particularly:

  • Recycling bins uplift request
  • Secure bin uplift request
  • Emergency cleaning request
  • Pest control request

These services cannot be requested through the standard cleaning staff while they are working.

Please make sure you provide a clear description of the nature of the cleaning to be done if it is an emergency or a pest control request.
