If something isn’t working, try another browser

If you find that something in a webpage is not working as you expect it should…

Try another browser

Layouts, graphics, tables, forms, downloads and various other webpage elements can behave in different ways depending on the browser you are using. Some browsers handle these things differently to others.

So if things don’t seem right, try another browser.

The University supports:
– Microsoft Edge
– Internet Explorer
– Google Chrome
– Firefox
– Safari.

Move Fast Using the Home and End keys

This is a repeat of a previous Tip, but I don’t see anyone using these yet, so it’s worth repeating.

This shortcut saves you a LOT of scrolling and mouse clicking while browsing the Web or documents.

Use the HOME and END keys to swiftly return to the beginning or jump to the end of a web page, document, or presentation.

(The Home key and End key are located on the keyboard next to the Page Up and Page Down keys.)

On the Web, in a PDF document, or during a PowerPoint presentation:

Tap the Home key to return immediately to the beginning of the Web page, PDF document, or PowerPoint presentation.

Tap the End key to go immediately to the end.

In a Word document:

Hold down the Control key and Tap the Home key to return immediately to the beginning of the document.

Hold down the Control key and tap the End key to go immediately to the end of the document.
