The Canterbury Breastfeeding Advocacy Service recently awarded the University of Canterbury (UC) Breastfeeding-Friendly status.
This award recognises that as an employer, UC supports workers to continue breastfeeding once they have returned to work.
We do this by having policies in place that ensure spaces and time will be made available to staff in the working environment to breastfeed and/or express breastmilk for their infants.

We are migrating all HR forms and tools within the HR Toolkit to the new version of SharePoint. The site links have been updated and we are working through updating all links inside documents.
If you have a link anywhere on your website which maps directly to an HR tool this will need to be updated to point to the new location.

UCPeople (PeopleSoft) will be upgraded in September, bringing with it a new look, mobile capability, new search capabilities and easy user navigation.
What is changing for managers?
Changes include, but are not limited to:
- Approval of future booked leave cancellation requests
- My Team Tile – Supplementary Analytics Panels replacing Manager Dashboard Reports
- The ability to approve and enrol your staff member(s) in Professional Development Courses and Health & Safety Courses run by UC/L&D.
- Global Search functionality – enables a quick search using keywords for menu items. Search results displayed as per security access.

The PeopleSoft Payroll and HR system will be unavailable from 12noon on Tuesday 14 March until 8.30am on Wednesday 15 March due to planned system maintenance.
We encourage staff to complete any urgent PeopleSoft self-service transactions prior to the outage, and apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
