UC Jobs – The new Staff Recruitment Platform is going live next week

What is happening?

Human Resources has been working on a project to replace the current UCPeople/PeopleSoft recruitment module for continuing and long term fixed term staff recruitment with new a recruitment platform.

The new recruitment platform is named ‘UC Jobs’.

Note: University of Canterbury Temporary Vacancy System (UCTV) is not affected at this stage.

This project is in line with the UC Staff Recruitment Strategy and as part of an ongoing commitment to operational excellence and continuing process improvement.

What is changing?

The new staff recruitment platform will enable process and technology improvements across UC and hiring managers will have greater control to move their candidates through the recruitment process. The recruitment business case will now be entered and approved online.

For more details on what is changing refer to HR Intranet: What is Changing? – UC Staff Recruitment Platform (staff access only).

When is it happening?

The new staff recruitment platform will go live next Wednesday 20 November 2019.

What is happening with currently advertised roles?

Current roles that we are in the process of recruiting via the UCPeople/PeopleSoft Recruitment Module are closing on Tuesday 19 November at the latest.

The old  UCPeople/PeopleSoft candidate portal will close at the end of business on Tuesday 19 November. Current roles and applicants who applied via UCPeople/PeopleSoft will still be processed in the old Recruitment system.

From the 20 November all new advertised roles will be posted via the new Recruitment Platform ‘UC Jobs’.

Human Resources will work with each hiring manager individually as new roles to be advertised arise.

A New Staff Recruitment Platform is coming!

Tēnā koutou katoa,

In line with the UC Staff Recruitment Strategy and as part of an ongoing commitment to operational excellence and continuing process improvement, Human Resources has reviewed the current continuing and long-term fixed term staff recruitment system (currently UCPeople/PeopleSoft Recruitment Module).

The detailed investigation of potential technical solutions, to address some of the challenges we currently face, focused on how to:

  • improve the candidate experience and engagement
  • make the system more user-friendly for applicants and Hiring Managers
  • future proof the system to grow with UC’s needs and supports the Staff Recruitment Strategy
  • enable UC Hiring Managers to be more actively involved in the recruitment process
  • create a talent pool
  • automate and speed up manual processes

Following due diligence and a detailed research phase, we are delighted to have found a technical solution that meets UC’s needs.

We have now commenced on a project to replace the current UCPeople/PeopleSoft recruitment module for continuing and long term fixed term staff recruitment.

UC Certified Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace

The Canterbury Breastfeeding Advocacy Service recently awarded the University of Canterbury (UC) Breastfeeding-Friendly status.

This award recognises that as an employer, UC supports workers to continue breastfeeding  once they have returned to work.

We do this by having policies in place that ensure spaces and time will be made available to staff in the working environment to breastfeed and/or express breastmilk for their infants.

CONGRATULATIONS UC!

Links to HR forms, letters and tools changed

We are migrating all HR forms and tools within the HR Toolkit to the new version of SharePoint. The site links have been updated and we are working through updating all links inside documents.

If you have a link anywhere on your website which maps directly to an HR tool this will need to be updated to point to the new location.
