Firewall Maintenance – brief internet outage (Tuesday 28th June 6pm)

On Tuesday 28th June at 6pm, ITS will be performing system maintenance on the Firewall. There may be a brief internet outage during this maintenance. If internet connectivity is disrupted, it should be restored automatically overnight, but if you require access to be restored immediately please restart Internet Enabler or reboot your computer to restore connectivity.

CIS update for 2017 Course Occurrences (Thursday 23rd June)

Which course occurrences are affected?

The roll over affects course occurrences with an exact match of course code, title and semester, and have not been edited in Course Maintenance.

If you have edited a 2017 course occurrence before the roll over date, no existing course information will roll over. The system recognises an edit as the most-up-to-date information and won’t over write it.  This means if you have edited one field in a course occurrence, no other departmental entered information for this course occurrence will be copied over.

For course occurrences that have not rolled over

You can use the Clone tool to copy departmental entered information from one course occurrence to another course occurrence individually.  This is useful for course occurrences that have not rolled over due to either a change in semester or course code or previous editing.  See http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/web/cis/maintenance05.shtml for instructions on using the clone tool.

Remember the CIS will not show departmental information on the web site until the “available for web” box has been “ticked” in Course Maintenance for each individual course occurrence.

Self Service Portal – post upgrade notice

On Friday 15th April, system maintenance and upgrades were performed successfully on the Self Service Portal. A very small number of changes will be visible to users of the Portal, including the presence of an ‘Order Now’ button, and the addition of ‘Time’ fields, on some forms.

If you are experiencing issues accessing the Self Service Portal following the upgrade, please ensure you clear your web browser cache or try using a different web browser. If you need assistance clearing your browser cache, please contact the IT Service Desk.
