PeopleSoft system maintenance

The PeopleSoft system, including UC Vacancies and UC Temp Vacancies, will be unavailable from 12pm, Tuesday 26 March until 8.30am, Wednesday 27 March due to planned system maintenance.

We encourage staff to complete any urgent PeopleSoft self-service transactions prior to the outage, and log out of PeopleSoft.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

If you have any questions about this maintenance, or problems once the system is restored, please contact the IT Service Desk.

PeopleSoft unavailable 15 March from 9.15am

The UCPeople (PeopleSoft) system will be unavailable from 9:15am, Thursday 15 March for system maintenance.

We encourage staff to complete any UCPeople self-service transactions prior to 5pm today (Wednesday).

We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience that this may cause. Another email will be sent to confirm once system maintenance is completed and UCPeople (PeopleSoft) is available again.

Enrol in UC’s Professional Development

All employees (inclusive of managers) can now submit a request through Employee Self Service to attend Learning & Development and Health & Safety workshops.

To enrol in these Professional Development workshops using UCPeople:

UCPeople User Video: Search and Enrol in Professional Development (Video) (3 minutes)

UCPeople User Video: View Professional Development Summary (Video) (0.5 minutes)

– To pause the video, tap the spacebar on your keyboard.
– To display the Play Controls, roll your mouse towards the bottom of the video window.
– If you are in a hurry you can step through the process steps by clicking the forward or backward buttons using the Play Controls at the bottom of the video window.

Enrol in UC’s Professional Development NEW (Note: includes applying for L&D and H&S courses run by UC)

If necessary, apply for Professional Development Leave.

Apply For Leave Using The New UCPeople (PeopleSoft)

UCPeople (PeopleSoft) has had a major upgrade, so the next time you check your pay, apply for leave, and all the other things that you use UCPeople (PeopleSoft) for, expect a pleasant surprise!

To apply for leave using the new UCPeople:

Check your leave or pay, on your phone/tablet

Who cares about making bookmarks for mobile devices? YOU DO!

UCPeople (PeopleSoft) is being upgraded, so when you need to check your pay, apply for leave, and numerous other important things that you use UCPeople (PeopleSoft) for, from your phone (or tablet), you will be glad you have made a bookmark to find it and access it easily.

Find out more about UCPeople’s new look, mobile capability and easy user navigation.

The key is to have a bookmark to
UCPeople (PeopleSoft) on
your device’s home screen.

 

To make the bookmark:
(The key here is to open a browser on your device and look in its menu for an option named something like “Add to home screen” or “Pin this page to Start”).

  1. Open the UCPeople (PeopleSoft) web page on your phone or tablet. You can do so from this location: https://ucpeople.canterbury.ac.nz/psp/ps/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG
  2. Then, while you have the UCPeople (PeopleSoft) page visible, and depending on your device:

iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad:
> tap the Share icon
(the rectangle with an upwards arrow on it, located at the bottom or top of the screen)
> tap the Add to Home Screen button
> enter a name for the shortcut
> tap the Add button (located at the top right corner of the screen)
– the shortcut will be added to your Home screen

Android phone and tablet:
> tap the
button (the 3 dots located at the top right corner of the screen)
> tap Add to Home Screen
> enter a name for the shortcut
> tap the Add button
– the shortcut will be added to your Home screen

Windows phone and tablet:
> t
ap the … button (the 3 dots located at the bottom right corner of screen)
> tap Pin this page to Start
– the shortcut will be added to your Start menu

If you have another type of smartphone or tablet, it probably has this feature, too. Just open its browser and look in its menu for an option named something like “Add to Home screen” or “Pin to Home screen.”

To use the Bookmark:
1.  Locate the icon on your device’s Home Screen
2.  Tap the icon
– the UCPeople (PeopleSoft) web page opens in your device’s browser

The shortcut can be dragged around and placed anywhere, including in app folders — just like a normal app icon.
