UC Christchurch Youth Orchestra concert – 15 October

Under the baton of conductor, Helen Renaud, the UC Christchurch Youth Orchestra is excited to present its third concert for 2016.

Where: The Piano: Centre for Music and the Arts, 156 Armagh Street

UC CYO in rehearsalv2This Christchurch School of Music concert will feature the wonderful Hebrides Overture by Mendelsohn, the CYO concert band playing Divertimento for Band by Persichetti, the CYO string orchestra playing the beautiful Romance in C by Sibelius and the full orchestra performing Te Papa by Gareth Farr and the Gloriana, Symphonic Suite by Benjamin Britten.

Under the baton of new conductor, School of Music Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate Helen Renaud, the UC Christchurch Youth Orchestra is excited to present its first concert for 2016.

Hear Christchurch’s top young orchestral musicians, including UC students, perform in the University of Canterbury Christchurch Youth Orchestra’s Metamorphosis.

The concert will feature the CYO concert band playing The Year of the Dragon by Sparke, the CYO string orchestra playing Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, and the full orchestra performing orchestral favourites by Hindemith, Brahms and Rossini.
