UC Business School Meta-Research Cluster (UCMeta) Hui 8 July 2020

Kia ora koutou
The UC Business School Research Committee recently provided support for a research cluster to support multi-disciplinary research that focuses on meta-research. Loosely translated, meta-research is research on research. A good introduction can be found here. The cluster is co-directed by Prof. Bob Reed and Assoc. Prof. Tom Coupe and goes under the name of UCMeta.

We will have our first hui on Wednesday, July 8th, 12-1 PM, in the Meremere Staff Lounge (Room 236). The tentative agenda is:
– Welcome and introduction from Bob Reed
– Opening remarks from Angus MacFarlane, Professor of Maori Research
– Opening remarks from Steve Ratuva, Director of the Macmillan Brown Centre
– Surprise announcement (maybe!)
– Presentation of recent research on meta-analysis from Sanghyun Hong, PhD student, Dept. of Economics and Finance
– Closing remarks

The purpose of the hui is to provide a brief introduction to UCMeta and facilitate networking for researchers who share an interest in this subject. Please forward this invitation to others who you think may want to attend. All are welcome.

Feel free to bring your lunch along. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
No RSVP is required

This hui will also be available on Zoom:
