This week, UCSA’s Education Representative Charlotte Merrall takes us for a look around Haere-roa, the new student building, to see how construction’s going. The project is incredibly close to the finishing line now. The UCSA Team move their office equipment into the building on 5th July, and they’ll be operating out of the space soon after. By the time students are back on campus, they’ll be able to pop over and check it all out.
For more information about Haere-roa, visit the UCSA’s website.
This week, UCSA’s Post-Graduate Representative, Katie Mills, takes us for a look at some of the great club facilities in the new student building Haere-roa. Inside, you’ll find a club meeting room, printing facilities, and lots of bookable event spaces. Over the coming weeks, we’ll also take a peek inside the Ngaio Marsh Theatre, which will be another amazing club facility for shows, balls and other events.
The UCSA has launched the new V-Plate digital card, a convenient new way to grab your on-campus discounts and vouchers.
To download it, either visit the Android or Apple app store and search ‘vplate’. Or scan either QR Code below. You can also visit the V-Plate website here.
Left: Google Play. Right: Apple Store
If you already have a V-Plate card but want to use the new digital version, you can. Just use the email address you registered with and your card number with an extra ‘0’ at the end. For example, card number ‘12345’ will have pin number ‘123450’. For security reasons, it’s recommended that you change your pin number when you first log in.
How sustainable is Haere-roa? Turns out, very. This week, UCSA’s Engineering Rep, Olly Ng, takes a look around the new student building to check out its eco-friendly features.

This venue has been around for a long time, but come July it will make its big move across the carpark to the new student building.
There’ll be a few changes when The Foundry opens in its new location, including longer opening hours Monday to Friday. Take a look.
