Be aware of scams at this time of year

UC has detected on-going scam attempts by email. If someone contacts you out of the blue – whether over the phone or by email or on social media – always consider the possibility that it may be a scam. Scams eventually lead to a request for money or personal information.

With the Christmas holiday approaching, fraudsters may use the gift card scam: the scammer may impersonate UC staff, a colleague or your manager, and demand that you buy gift cards.

If you think you have received an email scam:
1. Do not engage with it – do not open it or click on any links.
2. Report it to
3. Delete it.

Thanks for your time,
ITS team.
