COP26 Commonwealth Climate Research Cohort – applications now open
We are seeking 24 experienced climate and environment researchers based in ACU member universities to join the Commonwealth Climate Research Cohort. Throughout 2021, this unique Cohort will work together with experts from across the Commonwealth to identify opportunities to engage and influence on issues of climate and environment in the lead up to COP26. The ACU and the British Council are working in partnership to establish this opportunity for rising-star climate and environment researchers seeking to enhance their leadership and knowledge exchange skills.

The ACU is pleased to launch a new ACU-Durban University of Technology (DUT) Toolkit for Virtual Engagement for International Student Exchange. The toolkit is the first in a series of member-led resources designed to support peer-to-peer learning, and the development of new virtual student exchange collaborations – drawing on DUT’s longstanding experience.
Apply for a Commonwealth Peace & Reconciliation Challenge Grant
Applications are closing soon for Commonwealth Peace & Reconciliation Challenge Grants. Aimed at academic and professional staff, the grants will support projects advancing peace, reconciliation, and indigenous knowledge. Four grants, up to a maximum value of GBP 2,500 each, will be available for ACU members to meet the costs of a diverse range of projects.

For emerging academics, taking part in an international conference can have a profound impact on their teaching and research. The ACU’s Early Career Conference Grants help to ensure that more emerging researchers – and the universities that employ them – can benefit from these valuable opportunities. To reflect the current times, this year’s grants will solely fund participation in virtual (online) conferences.

Blue Charter Knowledge Exchange Training Programme
This bespoke course aims to help enhance the impact of research dissemination activities undertaken by early-career researchers working in the field of marine science. Researchers may be nominated to enrol in the training, and those who complete the course may also apply for up to GBP 2,000 under the Blue Charter Knowledge Exchange Grant Scheme designed to support researchers in the practical application of the skills they learned.
