COVID-19: reminder on UC travel restrictions

As you will recall, travel restrictions were put in place for all UC travellers in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Late last year, the Risk Advisory Committee (RAC) considered options for travel in 2021 and after careful deliberation of all issues, including health risks and travel insurance, the Committee determined that the current restrictions should remain in place, i.e.

Any air travel (domestic, trans-Tasman, or international) may only proceed if deemed essential and only with SLT approval.

The COVID-19 pandemic remains volatile and any travel should only be for essential purposes and if approved by an SLT member. The RAC will keep the current restrictions under continuous review and advise if there are any changes.
