Workshops to build diversity and inclusion

We have two more workshops arranged for 2020 to enhance and build your awareness around diversity and inclusion.

Rainbow Awareness
Friday 18 September & Friday 16 October, 9am – 11.30am each day
This workshop is aimed at staff that have limited knowledge of gender diversity or how it applies to them in their role at UC.  In these workshops we will explore gender diversity in Aotearoa.

Building Cultural Literacy
Tuesday 15 September, 9.00am – 2.30pm
Building Cultural Literacy to Enhance Engagement, Understand Complexity and Build Connection: Strategies for Working with Students from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds.

Enrol via the Professional Development tile on UCPeople, or find out more information via the Learning and Development intranet.

Not to be missed! Workshops for Heads and Managers

Three courses not to miss:

Financial Skills – a must for new heads and managers at UC. Thursday 15 October, 9am – 1pm
Feedback from the last workshop:
“Exceeded my expectations. Hands on examples great. Well explained good balance between overview and detail. Feel much more confident only after a few hours.”

Mental Health and Wellbeing Awareness for Heads and Managers
Thursday 22 October, 9am – 1pm
Top of mind for most staff at the moment is psychological safety and the need to keep and stay well. Do you know what to do if a staff member is not feeling at their greatest?

Negotiation Skills – will be a key skill for near future activities
Tuesday 20 October, 9am – 4.30pm
Feedback from the last workshop:
“I found the course to be excellent and one of the best I have attended at UC. The presenter is very quick to interpret and understand the different positions participants come from and tailors aspects of the course and interactions to each person.”

Short videos  and longer more in depth courses provide you with on time learning that is interesting and useful.

We will be opening access for all staff in the coming weeks.
