The General Election and referendums are just around the corner. This year you can vote from Saturday 3 October, right through until 7pm Election Day, Saturday 17 October. You need to be enrolled to vote and you can enrol right up to and on election day – you can do it online at www.vote.nz. People enrolling now won’t receive an EasyVote card in the mail, but you can still vote without one.
This year, you can vote on campus at Haere-roa and in the Undercroft.
Vote in Haere-roa on:
Mon 5 – Wed 7 Oct 10am-4pm
Mon 12 – Thu 15 Oct 10am-4pm
Fri 16 Oct 10am-3pm
Vote in the Undercroft on:
Mon 5 Oct -Sat 10 Oct 11am – 5pm
Mon 12 Oct – Thu 15 Oct 11am – 5pm
Fri 16 Oct 11am – 3pm
When you go to vote, you’ll be given a voting paper for the election and voting paper for the referendums. On your election voting paper, place a tick next to the party you support, and a tick by the name of the person you want to represent your local area. You can also vote in the two referendums – the End of Life Choice referendum and the cannibis legalisation and control referendum. You can find more information at www.referendums.govt.nz.
