UCSA’s Noel Leeming Friends and Family Sale starts soon

The UCSA Noel Leeming (Riccarton) Friends and Family sale is back!

Running from 14 to 27 June 2021, it’s a great opportunity to pick up a deal while supporting UC’s Students’ Association (+2.5% of total sales will go towards UCSA student events).

UCSA Arts Fest is here!

UCSA Arts Fest 2021 is here! We’ve put together two jam-packed weeks of events, showcasing the Arts here at UC.

Arts Fest 2021 includes over 40 events, many of which are led by UC student clubs, or feature some of our most talented UC students!

Head to a workshop, or get your competitive streak going by entering one our Arts Fest competitions. Finalists will be invited to The Arts Fest Awards to end the week.

🎨 DramaSoc Presents: Love + Information

Friday 14th May & Saturday 15th May – 7:30pm to 9:30pm – Ngaio Marsh Theatre

Dramasoc is incredibly proud to present the first show of our centenary year, Caryl Churchill’s Love + Information. In this fast moving kaleidoscope, more than a hundred characters try to make sense of what they know.

🎨 Te Rourou a Haere

Monday 17th May – 12:00pm to 1:30pm – Amphitheatre

In partnership with Te Akatoki Māori students association, we have relaunched Lunch on the lawn to further explore the cultural narratives of our whare and space. So going forward we welcome you all to join us at ‘Te Rourou a Haere’.

We will be serving free Hangi for the first 100 attendees (With snags and veggie paddies thereafter), followed by Kapa Haka and a Tu Taua demonstration.


🎨 Pub Choir

Monday 17th May – 7:00pm to 9:00pm – Ngaio Marsh Theatre

Pub Choir is a euphoric sensation that transforms a crowd of tipsy strangers into a legendary choir. Think school singing but with beer!!!

By the end of the show the YOU will be belting out a kiwi classic in three-part harmony. Don’t prepare anything! It’s not that kind of choir. You simply need to open your sound hole (your mouth FYI). We will do the rest.


🎨 Paint and Sip

Tuesday 18th May – 7:00pm to 8:30pm – Tī kōuka Room

Come along and get those creative juices flowing with a guided paint session with Christchurch’s own Paint’n’Sip. Tickets on Eventbrite.

🎨 The Court Theatre | Scared Scriptless at The Ngaio

Wednesday 19th May – 7:30pm to 9:00pm – Ngaio Marsh Theatre

Scared Scriptless is an improvised comedy show that’ll have you on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next! Performed by Canterbury’s best improvisers, every show is unique, silly and absolutely hilarious.

🎨 Rekindle | String-making Workshop

Tuesday 25th May – 6::00pm & 7:15pm – Haere-roa Clubs Meeting Room

Learn how to use tī kōuka / cabbage tree leaves to make a strong and beautiful twine. Rekindle’s most popular workshop, this technique for making string and rope is simple and can be used with many different materials.

MUSOC can’t wait to celebrate the joys of storytelling with you, and what better way than through song? We have collected an enchanting variety of numbers from movies, musicals, and popular artists to perform for your viewing pleasure in ‘Long Story Short: A MUSOC Cabaret’.

Sit back and let our wonderful cast and band entertain you with stories old and new – all very near and dear to our hearts. From fairytales, to myths, to real life narratives, this show is a must see during the UCSA Arts Fest!

UCSA By-Election Results: Finance and Engagement Officer

Congratulations to the UCSA’s new Finance and Engagement Officer Jennifer Berry!

The by-election results were announced on Friday evening, with Berry securing the most student votes out of four candidates.

Jennifer is in her third year studying Mechanical Engineering, is a self-confessed aerospace nerd, and a member of the Student Volunteer Army Executive.

In her new role, she’ll hold financial responsibilities and help the UCSA Exec to engage and communicate with students.
