We have been notified that a student in the University Hall community has tested positive for Covid-19.
Hall and CDHB staff have identified and communicated with close contacts in Uni Hall, Tupuānuku and College House, who are isolating safely and receiving support from the UC welfare team.
The student has visited sites on campus and affected sites on campus are published here. People who were at these sites at the identified dates and times are considered casual contacts. They do not need to isolate but should watch for symptoms. Find more advice here.
It is expected that we will begin to see more cases in our community. Information on cases and affected sites on campus will be posted to the UC Covid-19 website. Please check this regularly as we won’t always be able to notify you directly.
We continue to follow public health guidelines and receive regular guidance from the TEC and Ministry of Health. Should these guidelines change, we are ready to adjust our approach as needed to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff. This will include the ongoing development and implementation of specific actions to support our most at-risk populations, including but not limited to our Māori and Pacific communities, and those with underlying medical conditions.
