From Tuesday 17 May all students will be required to use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to log in to their UC Microsoft 365 accounts.
This precaution will keep your study documents and assignments safer by providing a ‘double check’ when you log into your account.
MFA is hugely valuable in protecting UC’s online resources and data against ongoing attempts by hackers. The use of MFA will add another layer of security to help protect your assignments by making it more difficult for hackers to gain access to your emails and files.
It’s important for us to adapt how we protect our resources and data against cybercriminals. MFA is a quick and easy way to confirm your identity when logging into Microsoft services such as email (Outlook), Word, Excel, PowerPoint or OneDrive, and you’ll find it is quite common wherever you log in these days.
It only takes a few minutes to set up MFA, and you can get ahead of the implementation date by getting yourself set up now. Find everything you need to know here.
If you need more help setting up MFA, please contact the IT Service Desk on 03 369 5000 or 0508 824 843.
