Exploring the coherence of the biosecurity regulatory framework.

In 2019, the government decided to review the Biosecurity Act 1993. The review will adapt it to modern biosecurity threats e.g. the growth of trade and tourism, online shopping and climate change.

There are four other major statutes, a wide range of regulations, national and regional plans that regulate biosecurity in NZ.  Identify whether there is a need for better decision making processes or future reform. Choose from environmental, cultural or social frameworks.
