Psychologically safe collaboration

To ensure robust, respectful, and productive discussion, we operate under the psychological safety framework listed below which you agree to when joining. We also operate based on the Chatham House Rule, which enables open and candid discussion by allowing participants to share information received during a meeting but prohibiting them from revealing the identity or affiliation of the speaker or any other participant.

  • Every voice counts – Everyone has the right and responsibility to speak up with ideas, concerns, and questions. No interruptions or talking over others.
  • Curiosity beats judgment – All questions are welcome, even “obvious” ones. Explore before you evaluate.
  • Mistakes are learning material – Share them, learn from them, and never use them as weapons.
  • Give credit, not competition – Acknowledge contributions openly; avoid one-upmanship or idea stealing.
  • Assume positive intent – Treat comments as genuine contributions; clarify before reacting.
  • Feedback is a gift – Offer it constructively, receive it graciously, and focus on behaviour and impact, not personality.
  • Disagree without disrespect – Challenge ideas, not people, and back up your position with reasoning and evidence.
  • Transparency is the norm – Share information, decisions, and reasoning openly; avoid unnecessary secrecy.
  • We’re all responsible for the climate – If you see exclusion, disrespect, or intimidation, address it respectfully and protect the safe space for all.

We will regularly review how the group is functioning and make improvements through honest discussion.
