The leadership and strategic direction
provided by Sara and Ben has facilitated
the communication, co-ordination and co-investment
necessary to form and grow the transdisciplinary subgroups that allow true collaboration between diverse ages, genders, and cultures on each project.
The specific research questions that form the PhD projects have grown organically through timely local and global educational priorities
identified by our external partners and discussed by our research group during our monthly meetings.
Several of these research questions are addressed by different PhDs using different methodologies and situations, creating intentional cross-fertilization between projects. Each Ph.D. proposal seeks to make a
transformational impact with the staff involved, the Ph.D. students, the study participants and our future society
