For students who received their MenB vaccination at Welcome Day or the UCSA Summer Starter Expo vaccination clinic, you can receive your second dose on 7 May.
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora will be back on campus on Tuesday 7 May to provide free follow up vaccines for Meningococcal B, HPV and MMR.
The drop-in clinic will be located in Bentleys (located in Haere-roa, above the Foundry) between 10am – 2pm on Tuesday 7 May 2024.
These vaccinations are now in the childhood immunisation schedule, but some young people may have missed out on them. Check your online health portal or ask your GP if you’re not sure.
Nurses administering the vaccinations will ask you to complete a short consent and information form. You won’t be required to provide your NHI number [but it would be helpful if you have it handy!], or proof that you live in UC accommodation.
For additional information on the vaccinations provided on 7 May, simply follow the links above.
If you’re not yet vaccinated against any of the above, but you’re looking into it – here’s what you need to know:
- The Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine is FREE!
- HPV is FREE for everyone aged between 9 – 26.
- The Meningococcal vaccine is only free for certain students, but UC strongly recommends all students protect themselves against this potentially devastating disease.
If you’re registered at the UC Health Centre, reach out to the team for more information, otherwise contact your local GP. You can find more information here.
