A planned power outage on Saturday 7 September will affect the listed Engineering buildings from 7.30am until 5pm.
The purpose of this scheduled power outage is to allow essential repairs to UC’s 11KV power network. 11kv transformers are generally used for power distribution in residential areas.

The Facilities Management (FM) team has liaised with key affected staff about the power outage, with FM electricians and external contractors on site throughout the day to attend to any significant infrastructure issues.
What do you need to do?
In preparation, FM recommends people in the buildings listed above should:
- Turn off IT equipment by close of business on Friday, 6 September.
- Ensure any equipment UPS (uninterrupted power supply) is operating correctly.
- Plan to shut down and reset any specialist equipment, as required, once power is restored.
