Temporary Road Closure – Tree Removal Works 11 November

Forestry Road will be temporarily closed between 8am and 1pm on Monday 11 November while Facilities Management contractors complete the removal of the damaged Liquidambar trees located on Forestry Road by 51 Creyke Road.

The initial limb and branch removal was initiated as emergency health and safety work on 25 October after significant winds damaged the trees, bringing branches down onto Forestry Road.

During the works period Forestry Road will be closed with a traffic diversion through Arts Road or Engineering Road. Please be aware of noisy machinery being used, do not enter the fenced off area and follow all traffic management signage.

Facilities Management have adopted a two for one replacement policy to compensate for the loss of a tree. Decisions on replacement planting will be part of the 2025 works planning.
Any enquiries should be directed to fmassist@canterbury.ac.nz
