Get the Power

Are you tired of feeling like you’re in the dark about your power consumption and bills? Do you want to take control of your energy usage and find the best power plan for your needs? If so, we have just the event for you!

In collaboration with Orion and EnergyMate, we are excited to invite you to our exclusive workshop where you’ll gain invaluable insights into saving power, understanding your power bill, and selecting the optimal energy plan for your lifestyle.

During this informative session, you’ll learn practical tips and tricks to reduce your power consumption, decipher the complexities of your power bill, and navigate the maze of available energy plans. This workshop is designed to empower you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about your energy usage.

Please note that spaces are limited, and attendance will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to enhance your energy literacy and take control of your power bills!

Campus Clothes Swap next week ♻

The Clothes Swap is back for 2024! 🌈
 
 
What: Campus Clothes Swap
When: Tuesday 14 May, 11am – 1pm (drop in any time)
Where: Te Rua Makerspace, Level 2, Puaka-James Hight Library
Cost: FREE!
 
How does it work?
 
🧣Bring along a maximum of five good quality, clean items that you no longer need or want, and you get to take home some groovy new threads, for FREE!
 
👗Swapping starts at 11am. You are welcome to drop your clothing donations in Te Rua Makerspace from 9am onwards on the event day. The Swap will run until 1pm.
 
🧤Please note we will only accept clothes/shoes/accessories that are in good, clean, pre-loved condition.
 
Spread the word, start going through your wardrobes, and we hope to see you there for some slow fashion fun!  ✨
 
This event is part of UC’s Waste Education campaign, which runs from 29 April – 17 May 2024.

Worm Farm Workshop

Join UC Sustainability this International Compost Awareness Week to learn about worm farming!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kaitlyn Lamb from the UC Compost Club will teach you tips and tricks for starting a worm farm, caring for your worms, and help trouble shoot some common problems with time for Q&A. Learn how worm farming can help you reduce food waste, while creating rich healthy soil for your garden. 🐛🐛

The workshop is taking place on Thursday 9 May, 11am – 12pm, at our on-campus worm farm, which is located outside Chiltons Cafe.
