Ring Road and Carpark Closure with Crane Activity – Dovedale Campus 3 March to 28 March

Facilities Management advise that a road closure for the Dovedale Ring Road will be in place from Monday 3 March until Friday 28 March while the contractor, Southbase, undertake the installation of concrete pre-cast panels on the Production and Postproduction building site (PPB).

This closure will ensure that a safe distance/exclusion zone is maintained for pedestrians and vehicles during works. A crane will be operating on site when panel lifting is in progress.

Staff, visitors and students, who usually use the Orakipaoa carpark during business hours will not be able to park in the carpark on days that panel lifting is in progress.  There will be no access in or out of the carpark during these times.

If you usually park in the carpark between 5pm and 7am and need your vehicle during one of the closure days, you will need to move your car before the carpark closure at 7am. This may apply to Halls of Residence students using the carpark for overnight parking.

If you need to access the halls by car, use the Solway Ave entrance.

Fencing will be in place during lifting hours. Outside of these days/hours, or on days lifting cannot occur due to weather, normal access will be available. The temporary fencing will be adjusted by Southbase or UC Security if and when access to the carpark is available.

Pedestrian access will be redirected per the attached markup.
