Cycle skills are back!

If riding a bike to work, to the local shops or around town is your goal this summer… then this is the opportunity to get practical, personalised advice in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

Back by popular demand, we’re running four free workshops this month:

  • Tuesday 11 October, 12pm – 1pm
  • Thursday 13 October, 12pm – 1pm
  • Tuesday 18 October, 12pm – 1pm
  • Thursday 20 October, 12pm – 1pm

The sessions will cover cycle safety, skills and techniques in a mix of settings, both off-road (tennis courts) and on-road (cycle lanes surrounding UC). Contact us to find out which session/s will be the best type for you.

A few details

  • Sessions are held on and around UC’s campus
  • There is no cost to attend
  • No bike? No worries! Loan bikes and helmets can be provided on request

The sessions will be led by Paul from Odlin Cycle Coaching, run in collaboration between the UC Sustainability Office and the Christchurch City Council.

Registration is essential as spaces are limited. Email chloe.sutton@canterbury.ac.nz for more details and to register, and together let’s gain the confidence to enjoy Ōtautahi by bike!

We’re holding these workshops as part of Biketober, Ōtautahi’s month long cycling festival. Bikes + October = Biketober!  Biketober is all about giving cycling a go. Whether you ride a bike already, would like to try, or just want to join the fun, there will be something for you happening in our city this October.  Check out Biketober’s website here to learn more and get involved.
