International documentary festival launches in Ōtautahi

UC and its Kōawa initiative is proud to partner with the much-anticipated Doc Edge Festival 2024 which launches on Wednesday in Ōtautahi Christchurch and runs until Sunday 30 June.

What’s in store?

Over the next few weeks, the city will be filled with documentary screenings, an immersive exhibition, live events, industry forums, and a pitching competition. See the full programme of activities here.

The festival will be held across iconic venues such as the Christchurch Art Gallery, the Town Hall, Tūranga (Central Library), HOYTS, Lumiere Cinemas, Alice Cinemas and more – turning the Garden City into a “Life Unscripted” documentary destination.

Why attend?

This will be the first time the Doc Edge Festival will be held in Ōtautahi Christchurch, before travelling to Auckland, Wellington and Virtual Cinema nationwide. It’s an opportunity to celebrate creativity and explore groundbreaking documentaries.
