Facilities Management Advise that Lift #34 in the Rehua Building is currently out of service due to a faulty door sensor.
We expect resolution of the issue early next week, but please be patient if the repairs take longer.

Alternative Access:

• Lift #33 and Lift #35 remain operational.
• Stairs are available for use.

Follow usual evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency.

There will be a planned electrical outage affecting the listed buildings on Sunday 28 September.

Connetics and UC Electricians will be upgrading the 11kV transformer at the Puaka-James Hight Substation on Sunday 28 September between 6:30 AM – 11:30 PM.

To maintain power to key buildings, and maintain Library opening hours on Sunday, a generator will be installed. This requires two total power outages from 6:30–8:30 AM and then from 9:30–11:30 PM during connection and disconnection of the generator.

Affected Buildings:
•    Puaka-James Hight (AS01)
•    North Arts LT (AR04)
•    Matariki (GS01)
•    Okeover (AS01)

FM recommend that people in the affected buildings:
•    Power down IT equipment before leaving Friday 27 Sept
•    Check UPS systems
•    Coordinate specialist equipment shutdown/reset
•    Note- FM cannot reset faculty-specific equipment

Facilities Management advise that access restrictions will be in place on Level 4 of the Ernest Rutherford Building from 8:00 AM Wednesday 24 September to 5:00 PM Thursday 25 September 2025.

Thise access outage is to allow Facilities Management contractors to install passive fire solutions as part of the chilled beam project currently in progress.

 Key Information:

• Double door access will be restricted.
• All other areas within the space remain accessible.

• Signage and barriers will be in place to indicate restricted areas.
• Access to surrounding rooms will not be affected.
• Please do not attempt to enter any coned off works areas.
