Facilities Management contractors will be drilling in the basement of West Building (SC02)  between Wednesday 16 July and Friday  18 July.

This work will be noisy, and so contractors will confine these noisy works to between 7am and 8am and 6pm and 7pm each day.

Please consider working from an alternate location during these hours if you feel these works will be disruptive to you.

You might the faint smell of oranges coming out of the Ernest Rutherford building on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 of July.

Don’t worry – this is just part of the Ernest Rutherford fume cupboard testing.

The odour is harmless, and the test is happening in a safe, controlled environment,

The Facilities Management Senior Building Surveyor will be completing Building Floor Plan Verification Inspections between 8.30am Monday 14 July and 4.30pm Friday 18 July in the following buildings:

• EN18 – Civil and Mechanical, Engineering Block E
• EN09 – Engineering and Physical Sciences Library
• EN17 – Engineering Link, Engineering Block A

The purpose of the building floor plan verification is to complete a visual inspection of all rooms in a building to record any differences to the floor plans that the University currently have on file. To do this the Building Surveyor will be accessing all spaces within an area or building, so please allow access – he will be very quiet!
