Facilities Management contractors will continue & complete essential concrete repairs to the exterior of the Psychology and Sociology building between 7 April and 20 April 2025.

Affected Buildings:

• AR12 Psychology and Sociology Laboratory
• AR06 Jane Soons
• AR08 Ann Ballin
• Forestry Road
• Arts Road

The elevations, or site areas, to be repaired are shown with a blue dotted line on the inset site plan. Temporary work areas will be set-up and coned off to carry out these works. Temporary work areas that will be set-up in normal working hours are denoted with a purple dotted line in the inset site plan. Temporary work areas that will be set-up out of normal working hours are denoted with a orange dotted line in the inset site plan.

While the works are in progress please follow all access signage. Do not enter any coned off work areas and be aware of all machinery in use on site.

Facilities Management

Facilities Management (FM) contractors ( Connectics) are completing some essential planned maintenance to the 11Kv substation to ensure that our infrastructure remains compliant, reliable, and resilient.

To complete this work the listed buildings will experience a complete loss of power for approximately five (5) hours from 7am until 12 pm on Saturday 5 April. 

Affected buildings should be considered to be closed for the duration of the power outage.

Affected Buildings:

• SC07 – Beatrice Tinsley
• SC08 – Julius Von Haast
• SC22 – Putaiao Koiora

FM recommend that people in the affected buildings:

• Turn off IT equipment prior to leaving on Friday 4 April in preparation for this outage.

• Ensure any equipment UPS is operating correctly.

• Plan to shut down and reset any specialist equipment.

Facilities Management contractors will complete essential concrete repairs to the exterior of the West building between 2 April and 4 July 2025.

Contractors will be preparing for the establishment of site fencing from 2 April and works are expected to commence 7 April. This includes pressure washing of the exterior of the building. The works area is circled in red on the inset plan with entry/exit points marked in yellow.

A cherry picker /knuckleboom will be used to access the higher elevations and machinery used to carry out works will be noisy at times.

While the works are in progress please follow all access signage. Do not enter any fenced off work areas and be aware of all machinery in use on site.
